Dr. Patrick A. O’Connor, a successful oral surgeon in Nevada, is a forerunner in the dental industry. As a specialist in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, he continually seeks out and implements new technological developments that bring top-notch dental care to Nevadans.
Originally from Salina, Kansas, Dr. O’Connor attended Kansas State University, graduating Summa Cum Laude. He graduated with honors from University of Oklahoma (OU) College of Dentistry. On his first day at OU, Dr. O’Connor realized his passion for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery after reviewing a reconstructive case involving a shotgun wound to the face. The idea of reconstructing lost bone and tissue to bring them back to functional form intrigued him enough to continue his education and specialize in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. While there, he trained as an OMS research fellow one year, resident 3 years, and an additional year as a chief resident.
Inspired to open his own oral surgery practice, Dr. O’Connor moved to Las Vegas in 1990. With more than 30 years of commitment to dental care in Southern Nevada, he adds another credit with the introduction of the future of implant dentistry to Nevada.
Dr. O’Connor has received numerous accolades in the field of dentistry including (Certificate of Merit from the American Academy of Oral Medicine, Induction into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, invitation into the Pierre Fauchard Academy of Dentistry) He is licensed to practice general dentistry as well as Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in Nevada, Texas and Oklahoma. In addition, Dr. O’Connor has an anesthesia permit for Nevada.
He is a member of the International Team of Implantologists, American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Society of Dental Anesthesiology and American Dental Association.
MATTHEW M. KIKUCHI, DMD
Dr. Kikuchi is a specialist in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. He is a caring surgeon with a gentle chair-side manner who believes every patient should be treated as if they were family. He is committed to providing the highest quality, skillful and personal service that one deserves. His extraordinary commitment to patient care from the moment of first contact throughout the patient’s life is extremely rare.
Dr. Kikuchi completed his specialty and residency training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Medical College of Georgia Hospital and College of Dental Medicine in Augusta, Georgia. Prior to residency Dr. Kikuchi graduated from the University of Nevada Las Vegas School of Dental Medicine. He completed his undergraduate studies at Brigham Young University with a Bachelor’s of Arts degree with an emphasis in sculpture.
During his residency Dr. Kikuchi trained under nationally recognized leaders in the speciality, becoming highly skilled in facial reconstructive surgery, dentoalveolar surgery, dental implantology, orthognathic surgery, facial cosmetic surgery, TMJ surgery, maxillofacial pathology and general anesthesia. He was a clinical instructor in the Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery department for certification courses in IV sedation for dental professionals, and a lecturer in the department of Periodontics on emergency protocols in sedation. Dr. Kikuchi served on the Head and Neck Tumor Board, a multidisciplinary council that assesses the diagnostic and treatment decisions for debilitating cancers of the head and neck region. He also acted as Chief resident operating on patients with life-altering facial trauma at a Level-1 Trauma Center, performing complex facial reconstructive surgeries covering the Children’s Hospital of Georgia and the region’s Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
Dr. Kikuchi is a member of the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons. He is certified in Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support and Advanced Trauma Life Support. He holds an active license in the state of Nevada, Utah, Arizona, and Colorado.
Las Vegas is where he calls home with his beautiful family. Dr. Kikuchi enjoys spending time outdoors, meeting new people, being involved with local church and civic activities. Dr. Kikuchi recreationally enjoys bronze/marble sculpting, fishing, cooking, and taking family road trips.
